Top Five Best New Cars

The automotive industry is constantly changing. New cars are being launched into the market every day, with new technological innovations and up to date styling. We’ve taken a look at some of the newest cars that we’ll no doubt be valeting soon.

Skoda Yeti

The new Skoda Yeti is a revised version of Skoda’s flagship compact SUV. The original Yeti was extremely received, and the little changes that Skoda has made to this vehicle will no doubt ensure that it remains a well liked feature in the UK’s compact SUV market. The new Yeti comes in two different models, “Outdoor” and “City”. The differences are purely aesthetic. In City models the bumpers, side mouldings and sills are finished in the body colour and in the Outdoor model they are black plastic.

Mercedes Benz GLA

The GLA is another new entry to the compact SUV market from the German manufacturer.  Keen Mercedes fans will notice that the GLA is based on the same platform as the A-Class hatchback and CLA saloon. However the exterior panels are completely different, creating a fresh look.  Front wheel drive is standard, and four wheel drive is an option for some of the larger engined models

Honda Civic Tourer

The Honda Civic Tourer is a new estate version of the familiar Honda Civic. The main feature is an absolutely huge 624 liter capacity boot.  The rear seats fold down to a completely flat position too, allowing for even greater loads. On the outside it looks much like the Civic hatchback, and shares the same wheelbase.  Of course it’s considerably longer overall, around 240cm hangs over the back. Early reports of this vehicle are looking good, and analysts predict that it is likely to grab a reasonably large chunk of the estate market.

Hyundai i10

The 2014 Hyundai i10 looks significantly different to last year’s model. It’s a much more rounded, fluid car, which is apt considering it’s designed to be a swift city runaround. It’s also slightly larger than this year’s car too. The boot capacity has also been increased, to a respectable 242 liters.  The interior pictures haven’t been released as of yet, but Hyundai’s marketing people claim the inside uses extremely high quality materials and craftsmanship.

BMW i3

The BMW i3 has been getting a lot of hype in the press. That’s because it’s completely electric.  It’s also being sold in a unique way: to assuage the fears of new electric car drivers, BMW is going to be selling the car in a package that contains access to conventional BMW hire cars, just in case the i3 drivers feel they need some conventional power. The car itself is extremely technologically advanced. The electric drive train is a truly impressive piece of engineering, and the chassis is made of aluminum with a unique carbon fiber “passenger cell” to reinforce the body for safety and structural reasons. All parts of the car have been made according to BMW’s high standards of quality. We’d be surprised if it didn’t become a leader in the electric market.
